Stereotypes and peculiarities which are found in distinct groups of Eastern European photographic works will be the subject of Kloever's lecture with five thematic issues: → How are subjects of mass phenomena treated in the strategies of artists who have lived in communist and post-communist societies? → Do classic Turkish carpets have anything in common with contemporary Slovak advertising and seventies/eighties Czechoslovak avantgarde photography? → What are the practical reasons for picturing Byelorussian pagan rites today in classic black & white technique and square format? → Can marginalised groups, their culture and daily life be depicted without prejudices and stereotypes? → Did the ‹international› or globalised style of post-war colour photography eradicate Eastern European idiosyncrasies?
